How it stays quiet

Most of the noise a blower makes is vibration passed from the motor into whatever it is bolted to. The Silencer answers that at the mount: a thick rubber cup encases the fan while the motor is free to vibrate on a flexible rubber base. The result is that almost no sound deadening foam is needed inside the housing.

Why that is worth having

Blowers that rely on filter foam to quiet themselves can clog as that foam loads up with dust and damp. A restricted blower is starved of air and runs hot, which is hard on the motor. Dealing with the noise mechanically avoids the trade off.

What makes this one quieter than other blowers?
The motor mount. A thick rubber cup surrounds the fan and the motor sits on a flexible rubber base, so vibration is absorbed at the source rather than being packed around with foam.
Why does foam packing matter?
Foam used purely to deaden noise can clog over time. When it does, airflow drops, the motor is starved and it runs hot. The Silencer is built so that very little foam is required.
