The Unicel 5CH-35 is a 35 square foot replacement filter cartridge measuring 5-5/8 inch in outside diameter by 8 inch long, with a 1-1/2 inch MPT threaded fitting on the end.
Matching the cartridge
Three numbers decide whether a cartridge fits: outside diameter, overall length, and the end configuration. This one threads in on a 1-1/2 inch male pipe thread rather than dropping over a standpipe, which is the arrangement used on many compact spa and small system filters. Unicel lists it against filters from J.E.M./Majestic Ind. and Maax Spas.
Getting the life out of it
Rinse the pleats out at every cleaning, and soak the element periodically to lift the oils and scale that a hose cannot reach. When a soaked and rinsed cartridge still runs the pressure up quickly, the media is loaded past recovery and the element is due for replacement.
