The LA-CO Plasto-Joint Stik, part 11775, is a thread sealant supplied as a 1.25 ounce white stick rather than a paste or a tape. It is rated for gases up to 300 psi and liquids up to 500 psi.
Why a stick
A stick sealant is rubbed straight onto the male thread. There is no can to open, no brush to clean and nothing that can run down inside the pipe, which matters on a pool pad where the joint you are sealing is often above your head or down in a pit. It also means you use only what the thread needs.
Where it belongs
This is a thread sealant, so it goes on tapered pipe threads. It is not a substitute for an o-ring or a flat gasket, and putting sealant on a sealing face that was designed for a gasket does not make that joint tighter. Follow the directions on the package for the services and materials LA-CO approves it for.
