Algatec is EasyCare's industrial strength algaecide and clarifier, sold here in the 64 oz. bottle. It is a concentrate built for killing algae fast, and it does the job with or without chlorine in the water, which makes it the product to reach for when a pool has gone green and the sanitizer level is nowhere near where it should be.
What it kills, and how fast
Green, yellow and black algae are all covered. Most growths respond in 4 to 24 hours. Black algae, which is a fungus and roots into plaster, takes longer, typically 7 to 10 days.
Easy on the water
Algatec is metal free, so it will not stain surfaces, and it does not foam. It leaves pH, sanitizer levels and the rest of the water chemistry where they were, and there is no swim out period; the pool can be used immediately after treatment. No testing is required before dosing.
Dosing
Visible algae: 1 quart per 10,000 gallons. Clean pool start up: 1 to 2 cups per 10,000 gallons. Suitable for above ground and inground pools.
