The trap cover o-ring is the seal between the strainer pot and its lid, which puts it on the suction side of the pump. Anything that is not airtight there does not leak water out, it draws air in. Is this an OEM Sta-Rite ring or a generic?
Our source is not consistent. It is carried under the Sta-Rite brand with the part numbers U9-375 and O-12, and the product description also calls it generic. We have carried both rather than pick one.
Why are there two part numbers?
The ring is listed as U9-375 and as O-12. Either number refers to the same trap cover o-ring, so do not order both looking for two different rings.
What size is it?

My pump keeps losing prime. Is the lid o-ring the cause?
Very often, yes. A flattened, cracked or dried out trap cover o-ring lets air into the suction side, and the pump then loses prime or runs with air in the pot. Clean the groove, fit a fresh ring and lubricate it with a silicone o-ring lubricant.
