  • Max-E-Therm heaters Designed to fit the Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm SR-200, SR-333 and SR-400 models.

  • Terminal board protection The fuse is what opens before the control board takes the hit from a fault or a surge.
  • Low cost first check A dead control panel on a Max-E-Therm is worth checking at the fuse before anyone starts pricing a board.
  • Find the fault too A fuse that blows again on the next call is telling you there is a short or a failed component upstream, not that the fuse was bad.

Product details

Sta-Rite 32850-0099 is the terminal board fuse for the Max-E-Therm SR-200, SR-333 and SR-400 heaters. It is a new OEM Sta-Rite part, and it is also listed within the Pentair MasterTemp gas heater electrical and burner system parts.

What the fuse protects

The terminal board carries the low voltage control side of the heater. The fuse sits in that circuit so that a surge, a shorted sensor lead or a failed component opens the fuse rather than cooking the board behind it. That makes it a deliberately cheap sacrificial part in an assembly that is not cheap at all.

When to suspect it

A Max-E-Therm that shows nothing on the panel, with power confirmed at the heater, is a classic blown terminal board fuse. Checking the fuse takes minutes and rules out the least expensive cause before anyone starts pricing a control board.

Do not stop at the fuse

If the replacement opens again right away, the fuse is doing its job and reporting a real fault. Trace the short or the failed component before fitting another one, because repeat fuse failures are a symptom rather than the problem.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which heaters does this fuse fit?
It is designed to fit the Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm SR-200, SR-333 and SR-400 model heaters, and it is also listed in the Pentair MasterTemp heater electrical and burner system parts.
Is this a genuine Sta-Rite part?
Yes. It is a new OEM Sta-Rite part, number 32850-0099.
My heater has no display at all. Is this the problem?
It is the first thing to check. The terminal board fuse is inexpensive and it is what opens on a fault, so a dead panel is worth testing at the fuse before condemning the control board.
The new fuse blew straight away. What now?
A fuse that opens again immediately is reporting a fault, not failing on its own. Something downstream is shorted or drawing more than the circuit allows, and that needs tracing before another fuse goes in.
