A five pack of Stenner Santoprene duckbill check valves in the .25 inch size, part number MCDBINJ.

What the duckbill does

It is the one way element in a chemical injection fitting. Under pump pressure the slit opens and chemical passes into the line. When the pump is between strokes or off, the slit closes and system pressure cannot push water back up the feed tube toward the pump.

Why they come in fives

Duckbills are a wear part. Constant chemical contact hardens the Santoprene until the slit stops sealing, and a duckbill that will not close lets system water back into the feed line. Buying a pack means the spare is already on the shelf the next time a feeder starts behaving oddly.

What is a duckbill check valve for?
It is a one way valve. Chemical passes out through the slit under pump pressure, and the slit closes when pressure reverses so system water cannot push back into the feed line.

How often do they need changing?
They are a consumable. A duckbill that has gone hard, split at the slit or will no longer close cleanly should be replaced, which is why they come five to a pack.
