Product details

The Intermatic PF1202T is a heavy duty freeze protection control for pools that need two time switches. One clock can run the filter pump on its normal schedule while the second handles a booster pump for a pressure cleaner, and the whole assembly sits in a single enclosure at the equipment pad.

How the freeze protection works

A thermostat watches the outdoor temperature. When it falls below the point you set, the control turns the pump and heater on regardless of what the clocks are doing. Water that keeps moving does not freeze, which is what protects the plumbing, the pump and the heater through a cold night.

Ratings and wiring

Input is 240 VAC and the unit is rated to 3 HP. The enclosure has provision for switches to be mounted inside, or for a GFCI receptacle on the side, so a service switch or an outlet can be added at the same time as the install.

Where it is used

Typical loads are filter pumps, a filter pump paired with a booster pump, fountains, and pool and spa combinations. Have the wiring done by an electrician familiar with pool equipment and local code.

When does this switch the equipment on?
When the outdoor temperature falls below the point set on the thermostat, it turns the pump and heater on so water keeps moving.
Why two time switches?
It is built for a pool that runs two independently timed loads, for example a filter pump and a booster pump for a pressure cleaner.
What power does it need?
It is rated for 240 VAC input and loads up to 3 HP.
Can I add a switch or a receptacle to it?
Yes. The enclosure allows switches to be installed inside, or a GFCI receptacle on the side of the enclosure.
