Why phosphates matter

Phosphate arrives in a pool from fill water, run off, leaves and some treatment products, and it acts as a nutrient. Sanitizer still has to do the sanitizing, but water carrying a heavy phosphate load gives algae something to feed on, which is why an otherwise well kept pool can keep fighting the same problem.

Using it
