The Sta-Rite 27001-0022 is a 1-1/2 inch drain plug assembly for pool filters, supplied as the complete assembly rather than a bare plug.
A small part with an outsized nuisance factor
The drain plug sits at the low point of the filter tank and gets pulled every time the system is winterized or the tank is opened for service. That handling is what wears the seal. Once it starts to weep you get a permanently wet filter pad, a water level that creeps down, and in freezing climates a small leak that finds its way into somewhere worse.
Before you order
Sta-Rite uses more than one drain plug size across its filter range, so confirm the port on your tank takes the 1-1/2 inch plug. Swapping the whole assembly is faster and more reliable than trying to make an old, hardened seal hold again.
