Product details

This is the PoolTux WTB-1000, a 1 ft by 8 ft single chamber water tube in 16 gauge blue vinyl, made for holding an inground pool winter cover in place.

How it works

The tube is filled with water on site and then set along the edge of the pool, either threaded through the straps on the cover or simply laid on top of the cover edge. The weight is what does the work: it stops the cover shifting, stops wind from lifting it off the pool, and closes the gap that lets leaves and dirt blow underneath.

About the 16 gauge vinyl

Gauge is the wall thickness of the vinyl. At 16 gauge this is a heavier tube than the lightweight versions that tend to split over one winter, which matters most where the tube sits on coping or a rough deck edge.

It is sold as a single tube. A full pool perimeter takes several, so count the edge before ordering.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

How is the tube used?
It is filled with water and then either threaded through the cover straps or laid on top of the edge of the cover, so the weight holds the cover down.
Is this one chamber or two?
One. It is the single chamber version, 8 ft long.
What does 16 gauge mean here?
It is the thickness of the vinyl. A 16 gauge tube is heavier walled than the lighter tubes sold for a single season.
Does it work on an above ground pool?
It is listed for inground pool winter covers. Above ground covers are normally held with a cable and winch or with cover clips instead.
