Product details

The U.S. Seal PS-2131 is a pump shaft seal assembly, referenced against the Aqua-Flo Flo-Master FMCP and FMHP series and listed as a substitute for SPX1500KA.

The symptom

A pump that drips from the joint between the motor and the wet end has a failed shaft seal. Nothing else leaks in that spot. Left alone the water tracks back along the shaft and into the motor bearings, which turns a small part into a motor replacement.

Fitting

The assembly is a matched pair: a rotating face that goes on the shaft and a seat that presses into the housing. Replace both together and keep the sealing faces clean and dry going in. A new face run against an old seat is the most common reason a rebuilt pump leaks the same way it did before.
